In her early twenties, Gloria lived in Madrid Spain for eight years involved in Social work among Cuban refugees and studied for some time under Pedro Hernandez, a well known Cuban artist at the time who was en route to the U.S. She has an Advanced Diploma in Fine Arts (ceramics), a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Griffith University) and formed an Artist and Designer's Group of fellow peers after graduating.
